She was born in Manchester on February 27, 1927 to Joseph and Cora (St. Laurent) Dargie. She was a resident of the Pinardville section of Goffstown for many years.
Mrs. Roy worked as a certified nurse's aide at the former Notre Dame Hospital. She also worked at Mailways in Manchester, J.M. Fields in Bedford and in the cafeteria at the Bartlett School in Goffstown.
She had volunteered serving meals at bereavement receptions at the former St. Edmond Church and was a member of the Rosebud Society of the Precious Blood Monastery.
She enjoyed knitting afghans, sewing, crocheting and camping.
She was predeceased by her husband, Adrien E. Roy who died in 2008, and by a grandson, Kenneth Raczka.
The family includes six children, Linda Savoie of Northwood, Ronald Roy of Goffstown, Laurent Roy of Hillsboro, Paul Roy Sr. of Bedford, Janet Gagnon of Hooksett and Tina Lindhe of Highland, NY; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
