Thomas E. Dusseau

July 3, 1911 — June 30, 2005

Thomas E. Dusseau, 93, of Bedford, NH, died June 30, 2005, at the Merrimack Community Hospice House. Born in Essexville, Michigan, July 3, 1911, he moved to Bedford in 2003 following the death of Ethel Dusseau, his wife of 68 years. He lived with his son, Larry, and daughter-in-law, Rita.

Tom lived an active life in Bedford. He was the catalyst for Bedford Off Broadway's installation of a curved stairlift at the Olde Towne Hall Theater. Previously, four men lifted him and his wheelchair two flights to see the play directed by Rita. Now, theatergoers are able to ride up the stairs in comfort.

Tom, a life long Republican, was an active member of The Bedford Republican Committee and in September 2004, appeared on the ballot for Delegate to the Republican State convention. He received 326 votes. During the 2004 campaign, he met President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Governor Benson. He previously met President Franklin Roosevelt during the 1935 campaign.

Services will be private with burial in Michigan. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Merrimack Community Hospice House, 21 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
