Thomas P. Mcgrevey

June 1, 1932 — March 8, 2005

Thomas P. McGrevey (US Army Lt. Col. Ret.), 72, of Hooksett died March 8, 2005 at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born in Manchester on June 1, 1932, he was the son of Thomas and Lillian (Nelson) McGrevey.

He was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Manchester and the US Military Academy at West Point, class of 1955. He also earned a master's degree from the Command and General Staff College and an MBA from NH College.

Over a 20 year career with the US Army he served as Commander of the Global Counter Intelligence Analysis Detachment in Washington, DC; as Operations Chief for the Phoenix Program in Vietnam; as Senior Military Intelligence Advisor to Thailand and as Nuclear Weapons Battery Commander in Germany.

Mr. McGrevey taught graduate management classes at NH College and Southern NH University since 1978. He also was Assistant Dean of the Graduate School of Business in the 1980's.

The family includes his wife of 50 years, Patricia M. (Gibson) McGrevey of Hooksett; two children, Thomas McGrevey Jr. of Hooksett and Meredith Gately of Manchester.

IN HIS LIFE: The family also includes a daughter in law, Cathi McGrevey and a son in law, Joseph Gately; four grandchildren, Collin Gately, Caitlin Gately, Megan McGrevey and Thomas McGrevey III; in-laws, Richard and Beverly Gibson and nieces, Kim Desrosiers and Karyn Myers. He was a standout athlete in baseball, football and hockey at St. Joseph High School and at West Point and was instrumental in developing the small business incubator program in Manchester. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who supported his family in all they did and beamed with pride throughout. Well Done - Be Thou at Peace.

Committal prayers were held Friday March 11, 2005 in the chapel at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
