Thomas R. McKenna, 88, of Bedford, NH died January 8, 2017 at his residence after a period of declining health.
Born in Boston on December 29th, 1928, he was educated in the Boston school system.
After graduating high school, he served in the US Navy during WWII, and was honorably discharged in 1948. He was proud of his military service, and spoke of it often.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the Andover, MA school district for many years.
Tom loved music, poetry and will be remembered for his passion in supporting others. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service was held on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester.
Committal prayers and interment with military honors followed in the NH Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
