Thomas J. Menchak, 79, of Auburn, NH died March 8, 2022 surrounded by his family after a period of declining health.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on April 2, 1942, he was the son of Ernest and Grace (Mould) Menchak. He was educated in the Stratford, Connecticut school system and earned his degree from the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Connecticut.
Tom served as a Certified Executive Chef in superior establishments throughout Florida and New England including The Bahia Mar Hotel and Yachting Center, Palm Aire Spa Hotel, Stratton Mountain Inn, and Mount Snow Hotel. He was a culinary instructor at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and collected numerous accolades throughout his career, winning culinary competitions and creating stunning ice carvings. Tom was a professional motocross racer for Husqvarna, and an avid hunter, skier, and tennis player.
Family members include his wife, Sheila Getman of Hooksett; his stepdaughters, Kristi Lorden and husband Christopher of Milford, NH; Melissa Weissberg and husband Mitchell of Manchester; grandchildren, Nicholas and Katherine Lorden, Tamsin and Jonas Weissberg; his sister, Jane Menchak Sharpe of Palm Coast, Florida.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
