Timothy Joel Decker, 64, of Manchester, died September 14, 2012 in Pagosa Springs, CO after a brief illness.

He was born in Portland, ME on November 17, 1947 to Rev. Robert Carl Decker Sr. and Dorothy (Sullivan) Decker. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and did post graduate studies at Plymouth State College. He lived in Manchester for many years.

During the Vietnam War era he served in the U.S. Army with the Military Police at Ft. Bragg.

Mr. Decker worked for the state of New Hampshire as a juvenile probation officer in the Manchester area for many years. He was very actively involved with the NH State Employees Association and had served a two year term as its president. He also taught at the Youth Development Center in Manchester for many years.

He was a collector of antiques, a lover of music and a person of good humor.

The family includes his wife, Ada (Kane) Decker of Manchester; three children, Sara Serenity Vorias and her husband, Chuck, of Manchester, Justin Nathanael Decker and his wife, Juniper, of Albuquerque, NM and Noah Kane Decker and his wife, Allison, of Manchester; five grandchildren, Aerlin, Logan, Brady, Katherine Rose and Kosta; his father, Rev. Robert Carl Decker Sr. and his wife, Jean, of Rumney; four siblings, Robert C. Decker Jr. and his wife, Viv, of Rumney, Debbie Wright and her husband, Bill, of Winston-Salem, NC, David Decker of Israel and Kevin Decker and his wife, Diane, of Manchester; his father in law, Bernard Kane of Manchester; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester.
