Vincent Devino

June 19, 1935 — October 3, 2010

Vincent Devino, 75, of Manchester, died at home surrounded by family, October 3, 2010, following a valiant battle with Cancer.

He was born in Brooklyn NY, June 19, 1935, to Vincent and Concetta (Difeo) Devino.

He was a member of the Parish of the Transfiguration, and following retirement, he volunteered his services wherever needed.

He served in the United States Marines from 1954 to1956.

Vinny was an aerospace engineer for nearly forty years, working first for Northrup-Grumman and finally for Lockheed-Martin where he contributed to the design of cockpits for both the Navy and Air Force fighter jets, being at one time, one of three recognized experts in that field. He was a licensed private aircraft pilot, instructor, and owned and operated a fixed-base operation at one time. He served as an Information Officer for the US Naval Academy.

He was the Director of the NH Aviation Museum where he received the Granny Award from the NH Aviation Historical Society for his contributions to the museum and to the new Slusser Learning Center. In 2006, he was part of the team that was awarded the prestigious Collier Trophy for Aviation for his contributions to the design and successful first flight of the F-22 Raptor. He received the Department of the Navy's meritorious Public Service Award for his nearly forty years of service to Naval aviation and his volunteerism in the State of NH. He was a volunteer at the Shepard-McAuliff Learning Center.

IN HIS LIFE: Family members include his wife of eighteen years, Paulette Devino, of Manchester; five sons, Michael and his wife Joyce of NY, Steven and his wife Laurel, of Derry, Robert of CA, Peter of CO, Anthony of VA; stepsons, Michael Malfitano and wife Patricia of CT, Patrick Malfitano and wife Julie, of CO; a sister Carolyn Munaco, and her husband Peter, of NY; 14 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; he was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Troiani.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at The Parish of the Transfiguration Kelley St. Manchester, on Thursday, October 7, 2010.

Burial took place at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, Boscawen, on Friday, October 9, 2010.
