Violet E. (Soares, Neveu) Lauziere, 94, of Manchester passed away quietly at her home on September 8, 2021 after a period of declining health.
She was born on January 17, 1927 in Manchester, the oldest of eleven children of Antonio and Yvonne Soares. A fact she liked to share with everyone.
She graduated from St. George High School for Girls in 1945 and married her first husband Patrick A. Neveu shortly afterwards.
She was predeceased by her second husband Wilfred J. Lauziere, her daughter Susan Neveu, her brothers Arthur Soares, Antonio Soares, Raymond Soares, Philip Soares, John Soares, Manuael Soares, and sisters Cecile Tickler and Mary Ann Soares.
Violet is survived by her daughter Elaine Pike and husband Greg; son Rick Neveu and wife Kathleen; two grandchildren, Patrick and Julia Neveu; brother Richard Soares and sister Lynda Longeway and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She retired from waitressing to marry her second husband, roofer Wilfred J. Lauziere. She became a homemaker, wonderful mother of two and world traveler with her husband, Bill.
Violet had many interests over the years all of which she excelled at. She loved to cook, knit, sew, bowl, play cards and swim. She also had a lovely voice which she used to entertain with friends at local nursing homes. She loved to go to casinos and vacation in Reno or Las Vegas with her husband.
Violet was smart and fun to be around with an infectious laugh. She especially enjoyed the company of children who were drawn to her wherever she was. The world is a lonelier place without her in it. She will be missed.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, will be Saturday from 1 to 4 pm. Funeral services will be private at the family's convenience.
