During their working years Violette was a full-time homemaker and often supplemented their income by taking on seamstress jobs that allowed her to work from home and raise their only child, Daniel, while Aime worked multiple jobs. She tended a bountiful home garden and took great pride in her home-made pickles, and other natural creations which were cherished as gifts to their extended families. Violette was an avid knitter, creating beautiful blankets, sweaters and other items as gifts, continuing to do so until just recently. She thoroughly enjoyed the area and was a very active participant at the Mashpee Senior Center, until a fall in January 2012 necessitated her admission to the rehabilitation facility, where she cherished watching the beautiful sunsets over the water of Buttermilk Bay. She loved participating in extended family gatherings, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
