Vivian R. Flecchia

Vivian R. Flecchia, 92, of Bedford, NH died Friday September 30, 2022, with her family at her side.

Born in Keene, NH on April 23, 1930, she was the daughter of Lillian L. M. (Herbert) & Joseph Patnode.  She was educated in local schools.  Vivian obtained her nursing degree at the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in 1952.  She worked as a registered nurse at hospitals in Boston MA, Concord MA, and the Elliot Hospital in Manchester NH.  After retiring from nursing she volunteered at nursing homes in the Manchester area.  She married Edward B. Flecchia, Sr. in 1953 and they enjoyed 53 of years of marriage until his death in 2006.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, as well as playing dominoes and cribbage.    She was the first president of the Women’s Guild of St. Elizabeth Seton church and stayed a member until her health precluded it.  She used her nursing skills to help family and friends who needed her assistance.  She will be dearly missed.

Vivian is survived by her sons Edward B. Flecchia, Jr. & his wife Karen of Henniker, Mark Flecchia & his wife Donna of Burlington, MA, and Christopher Flecchia & his wife Michelle of Manchester; her brother Ronald Patnode of Clearwater, FL; her grandchildren Michele, Michael, Samantha, Nicole, Ethan, Tamara, & Cameron; and her great-grandchildren Mikenna, Liam, and Quinn.  She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, and her siblings George Patnode, Joseph “Sonny” Patnode, Dorothy “Dot” Golab, Alice Galvin, Madeleine “Maddie” Cucurullo, and Barbara Cassasa.

SERVICES:  There will be no calling hours.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, October 11 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford, NH 03110.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford, NH at a later date.
