Wallace F. Pinkham

Wallace F. Pinkham, 68, of Merrimack died February 2, 2012 at the Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.

He was born on February 24, 1943, in Malden, MA, the son of Wallace F. Pinkham and Esther (Wedge) Joly.

Wallace served in the US Army from 1961 to until his honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant First Class in 1983. In 1966 he received the Army's Commendation Medal for Heroism for his role in putting out a fire in a munitions depot as well as his commitment to searching for war casualties in Vietnam. He was also stationed in Okinawa, the Netherlands, Germany, and several other locations around the United States.

Since retirement from the Army, Wallace had also worked for many years at Continental Homes, HQ, and Sears.

He enjoyed fishing and following the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Above all else, he loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Family members include his wife of 48 years, Inge (Erlinger) Pinkham of Merrimack; his sons, Ronald Pinkham and wife Audra of Lowell, MA, Wallace Pinkham and wife Catherine of Merrimack, Michael Pinkham and wife Janice Sanborn of Amherst; his grandchildren, Alissa, Aaron, Michael, Meghan, Julia, Brandy, Mason and Drew; three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, and Corey; his sisters, Alice Peterson and her husband Charles of Freedom, NH, Jeanette Wolfendale and husband Cliff of Virginia; many nephews, nieces and cousins.

The funeral service and burial with military honors were held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the chapel of the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen.
