He was born in Manchester on September 6, 1919, the son of Walter B. and Josephine (Harrington) Connor. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
He graduated from Manchester High School Central and was a 1942 graduate of St. Anselm College.
Mr. Connor was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army 398 anti-aircraft as a 1st Lieutenant. He also served in the Korean War.
After the war, he held the position of vice-president for his family's business, the Wau Ke Wan Thread Company.
He was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine Church.
His family would like to thank the staff of Hanover Hill Healthcare Center for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Walter during his stay.
Family members include his wife, Mary Jane (Smith) Connor of Manchester; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Hamon Medlicott of Buntingford, England; one granddaughter, Orianna Medlicott of Buntingford, England; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, Richard Connor and his granddaughter, Clare Medlicott. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Margaret Connor, Isabelle Connor, and Mary Zamecnik, and his brother, William Connor.
The funeral service was private and at the convenience of the family.
