Walter John George, 79, passed away peacefully on Mar 19, 2022, in Bedford Falls Assisted Living, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Walter was born on Nov 11, 1942, in Manchester, where he was raised and attended school. In 1964, he became a member of the National Guard, serving four years. He later worked as a Correctional Officer for Hillsborough County. He was also self-employed, owning and operating Ferndale Acres Campground for over 30 years.
In 1967, he married Lorraine Frechette and they had three children, Michael, Cheryl and Christine. Walter & Lorraine were happily married for 55 years.
Walter is survived by his wife Lorraine, son Michael (wife Janet), daughters Cheryl Dupuis and Christine Infantine (husband Will), five grandsons Timothy, Jordan, Matthew, Justin, and Jared, two granddaughters Madison and Lauren, two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Jacqueline and a sister, June Hill.
Walter enjoyed spending time with his family, and working the camping business. He had a fondness for the outdoors and animals. He also enjoyed his winters in Biloxi MS.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1 p.m. at St. Catherine Church, 267 Webster St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
