Walter J. Hebert Sr, 90, of Manchester, died September 25, 2003 at his home, after a long illness.

Born in Londonderry on November 6, 1912, he was the son of Jeffrey and Esther(Bailey) Hebert.He was a life long resident of Manchester.

Mr. Hebert had worked as an autobody painter and repairman, retiring from Merrimack St. Garage after more than 42 years of service.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council # 92.Mr. Hebert was a member of the original school board of West Side Catholic Elementary School.

He enjoyed gardening, especially his geraniums, and african violets.

Family members include his wife of 63 years Jane L. (Boisvert) Hebert, of Manchester; 2 daughters, Sylvia Grady and Dorene Turner, both of Manchester; 2 sons Walter J. "Skip" Hebert Jr. of Hooksett, Jeffrey Hebert, of Manchester; a sister Elizabeth Mohan, of Manchster; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces, and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday September 27, 2003 in St Raphael Church, 103 Walker St. Manchester NH.

Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery,448 Donald St. Bedford NH.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Benedict Academy 85 Third St. Manchester, 03102 or to the VNA Hospice 1850 Elm St. Manchester.
