Walter G. Wrobleski, Jr., MD, one of the most highly respected physicians in his field, has died. His passion and dedication to medicine spanned more than six decades.
After graduating from the College of the Holy Cross, he earned his medical degree at the University of Vermont. He completed his internship and residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army before going into private practice in Nashua.
Dr. Wrobleski served as chief of staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua and was honored for his outstanding service by being elected to the Emeritus Medical Staff of the hospital in 2012.
Over the years, he showed a commitment to the community by regularly donating his time to provide physicals to underprivileged youth at the Nashua Boys & Girls Club. He supported local schools and valued the importance of education.
Dr. Wrobleski made an impact with many charitable organizations including The Jimmy Fund, the fundraising arm of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Walter G. Wrobleski, Sr. and Gladys Wrobleski; his brother, Joseph Wrobleski and his sister, Jane Sirois.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia A. (Sharek) Wrobleski of Bedford; five children, Susan Tucker and her husband, James, of Nevada, Debbi Taylor and her husband, Wade, of Florida, Kathryn Williamson of Hampton, and Walter G. Wrobleski III and William T. Wrobleski both of Virginia; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Taylor of Florida; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dianne and Paul Lipnick of Nashua; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Debbie Sharek of Maryland; a sister-in-law, Beverly Wrobleski of Florida; a brother-in-law, Thomas Sirois of Nashua; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Committal prayers followed at St. Patrick Cemetery, Derry Road in Hudson.
