Wilfred J. Paquin, 90, of Goffstown, died July 31, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on April 23, 1924 to Marjorique and Eliza (Doyon) Paquin. He lived in Manchester and Goffstown for many years.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army under Gen. George Patten and earned the rank of sergeant. During his military service he was a French translator.

Wilfred worked with his brother, Roland, who was owner of Roland's Garage and for the NH State Liquor Commission for many years.

He was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood and enjoyed cooking gardening, dancing and all things nautical.

He was predeceased by five brothers, Roland, Lucien, Maurice, Emile and Edgar, and one sister, Lorraine Lalumiere.

The family includes his wife of 21 years, Germaine (Provencher) (Coutu) Paquin of Goffstown; seven children, Paul Coutu and his wife, Diane, of Goffstown, Louise Sevigny and her husband, Ronald, of North Carolina, Diane Hamm and her husband, Donald, and Mike Coutu and his wife, Rita, all of Florida, Celeste Weil of Maine, Lorraine Beaudet and her partner, Bruce Brewer, of Derry, and Robin Provencher and her fiance, Lenny Bradford, of Manchester; 14 grandchildren, Stacey, Angela, Wayne, Brian, Lori, Justin, Jessica, Devin, Jennifer, Jessika, Derek, Chelsea, PJ and Jaime; 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; loving nieces, Doris Boucher of Manchester, Jacqueline Kistler and her husband, Bob, of Florida, and Rita Case and her husband, Sam, of Nashua; and a great niece, Paula Dobens and her husband, Mike, of Nashua.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, 265 So. Main St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
