Wilfrid (Willie) E. Beaudet, 98, of Bedford passed away peacefully June 6th, 2016 at the Catholic Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester on June 16th, 1917, he was the son of the late Simion and Marina (Charest) Beaudet.
Wilfrid, a veteran of the 2nd World War, served as an Armored Tank Crewman and an Air Raid Warden in Hartford, CT. Wilfrid owned and operated Bedford Construction for 35 years and he was then hired as a security guard for Manchester Security Service. He had also worked in the shoe and machine shop industry prior to retiring from NH Insurance where he worked as a machine operator, in the printing department. After retirement he worked part time as a parking attendant for many years.
Wilfrid was a life member of the American Legion Post 79.
He was predeceased by his wife of 46 years Lena R. (Raymond) Beaudet in 1982, at the young age of 66; and one daughter, Lena M. Beaudet in 2006.
Family members include three sons, Edward Beaudet of Bedford, George Beaudet of Manchester, Henry (Hank) Beaudet of Florida; two daughters, Arlene MacElman of Florida, Theresa Hadley and her husband George of Merrimack; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews and friends.
Per Wilfrid's request, there are no calling hours. Burial will take place at a later date at NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
