She was born in Lowell, MA December 1, 1920 and was the daughter of Manuel and Rosa (Lucas) Luiz. She had been a Manchester resident most of her life.
Prior to her retirement as a cafeteria worker in the Manchester school system, she worked at Davison Electronics.
She loved making jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and needlepoint. She was an avid reader of biographies. She also loved to bake and was well known for her fig squares.
She was a communicant of St. Raphael Church.
She was predeceased in 2003 by her husband of 58 years, Alfred H. Hebert, with whom she loved to dance and travel.
She leaves two daughters, Barbara Peterson and Karen Hebert, both of Manchester; three sons, James Hebert of New Boston, Dennis Hebert Sr. and his wife, Ann, of Manchester, and David Hebert of Manchester; 10 grandchildren, Dennis Hebert Jr, Jennifer Stone, Rebecca Eaton, Robert Peterson, Natalya Lamb, Erika Cormier, Anthony Hebert, Stephanie Strandson, Elizabeth Pinard and Benjamin Hebert; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Luiz of Manchester; a brother in-law, Robert Beaudoin; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at St. Raphael Church. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
