William H. Block, 95, of Manchester, died June 5, 2015 at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton.

He was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 20, 1919 to Cortland and Jean (Wolfson) Block. He lived in Manchester for most of his life, raising a close and caring family with his loving and devoted wife "Brown Eyes."

During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Block worked as a self-employed clock and watch repairman for over 60 years.

Bill loved to sing and entertain. He enjoyed making crafts, designing different plaques and painting. Bill always had a positive attitude and was very patriotic. He flew the flag at his house every day. Bill was a care giver, alter server, and a member of the Knights of Columbus at the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

The family includes three children, Mary Jane Fosher of Barrington, Robert A. Block of Weare, Teresa McGuigan and her husband Robert of Hooksett; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mary A. MacEachern in 2009, His daughter, Cindy A. Dumont in 2012, His granddaughter Mary-Helen Dumont in 1989 and a sister, Elizabeth Herrewig in 2013

Bill had the good fortune to be part of the family at the NH State Veterans Home for the last 5 years and his family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you for the exceptional care their father received.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in St. Pius X Church, corner of Candia Road and Sarto Street, Manchester. Committal prayers with Military Honors followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the NH State Veterans Home Tilton NH 139 Winter St. Tilton NH 03276
