He was born in Bronxville, NY May 11, 1934 to John and Emily (Hotchkiss) Breckinridge.
He lived in Andover, MA for 44 years and had been a resident of Amherst, NH the past 7 years.
Mr. Breckinridge served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He worked most of his life in the telephone industry principally at N.E. Telephone and later for Verizon.
While living in Andover, MA he served many years as president of the Andover Little League and was the founder of Andover Youth Hockey. He also served as president of the Andover, MA school district PTO.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Mary (McDonough) Breckinridge of Amherst; three children, Sally B. Green of Merrimack, NH, Mary "Lee" B. Cooper of Manlius, NY and John C. Breckinridge of Goffstown, NH; 10 grandchildren, Craig Masi, Cameron Cooper, Jake Cooper, Max Cooper, Quinn Cooper, Tyler Breckinridge, Mitchell Green, Rachel Breckinridge, Catherine Green and Becca Breckinridge; a brother, Robert H. Breckinridge of Hilton Head, SC; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, January 11, 2010 in St. Catherine Church. Burial was in the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at the convenience of the family.
