William L. Eaton

January 29, 1935 — July 11, 2025

Bedford

William Lawes Eaton, 90, of Bedford, New Hampshire died in his home surrounded by family on July 11, 2025.

He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Georgia (Nicholas) Eaton. Bill grew up in Auburn, NH and was part of the "Eaton Hill Road" clan. He was predeceased by his parents Amy (Lawes) Eaton and Benjamin Eaton, Sr.; sister, Theresa Hills and brother, Benjamin Eaton, Jr.

He was one of the owners and Vice President of Robie Construction Company of Manchester, NH, a four generational family company. Most of his working career was spent building and re-building dams and roads in the State of New Hampshire. Throughout his years, Bill was a Deacon of his church and served on the Board of Directors for the Association of General Contractors. He was a career long member of NH Good Roads Association.

Upon retirement, he and his wife traveled the country and they especially enjoyed Hawaii. Bill was an avid fisherman and golfer, and had an uncanny knack for being able to fix most anything. He was an extraordinary man; an incredibly hard worker and very humble.

Bill leaves behind three children: Bonnie J. Arsenault of NH, Joseph G. Eaton, and his wife, Jan of Florida and Reverend Debra A. Girard of Maine. His most favorite role was being “Papa/Poppy” to his three grandchildren: J Arsenault and wife Heather of NH, Lindsay Girard of Maine, Brady Arsenault and fiancé Erica Vanson of NH and his five great-grandchildren: Jocelyn Arsenault, William, Wyattand, Waverly McNaughton and Preslie Arsenault.

He also leaves his close friend and cousin, Malcolm “Woody” Woods, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the VNA Hospice staff for the incredible care and compassion they provided to Bill in his final days.
