William F. Hamrock, 94, of Bedford, died January 11, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Manchester after a brief illness.
He was born in Dorchester, MA on October 3, 1922 to James and Mary (Fallon) Hamrock. He graduated from Boston College in 1945 and lived in Bedford for the last 34 years.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged at the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.
William worked at American Optical and Bausch & Lomb for 40 years, serving in various capacities including district manager and vice president. He founded the Boston College Club of NH in 1987 and served as its president. He was very athletic and played many sports. He also enjoyed playing golf and had been a member of the Manchester Country Club.
He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings, Henry Hamrock, Mary Hamrock, Katherine Hamrock, Teresa Hamrock and James Hamrock Jr.
The family includes his wife of 68 years, Mary (Dunbar) Hamrock of Bedford and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Committal prayers followed at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
