William J. Heizer

June 30, 1944 — November 3, 2025

William J. Heizer, 81, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025 in Natick, MA after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Bill was born in Manchester, NH on June 30, 1944, to Joseph and Virginia (Osburn) Heizer. He is the youngest of two children and married his true love, Francine Fournier, in 1967.

Bill was laid back, funny and loving. He spent most of his life in New Hampshire and settled in Merrimack with Francine where they raised two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. He was a scratch golfer, avid sports fan and chart-topping radio personality.

Bill attended Nashua High School (class of 1962) where he was captain of the school's golf team and competed in many tournaments. He could be found curing his “green flu” on many courses over the years, including Pebble Beach. A graduate of Leland Powers School of Radio and Television and Suffolk University, Bill worked in radio and television for 30 years. His distinguished career includes roles in New Hampshire (Channel 13, WOTW, WLKZ), Massachusetts (WACQ, WTTK, WCOP, WKOX, WVBF, WCAP, WHUE, WJIB), Illinois (WFYR) and Florida (WAXY). His radio names included Brother Bill and J. William Charles. Bill also spent 21 years working at the United Postal Service in a variety of roles, rising to Rural Delivery Supervisor and Customer Service Supervisor in Nashua, NH.

Bill enjoyed cuddling up with his daughters to read a good book and having impromptu family dance parties to their favorite music. He loved weekend trips to antique stores and flea markets, amassing an impressive collection of vintage Coca-Cola memorabilia with Francine. The couple was frequently seen exchanging sweet smiles and smooches, making each other laugh and shimmying to classic R&B. Bill cared for Francine during several life-threatening illnesses, and she cared for him through his long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Through it all, love and laughter triumphed and have left a beautiful legacy.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Wife, and granddaughter Brooklyn Gridley.

He is survived by his two daughters Jessica Heizer and Jennifer Gridley, Jennifer’s husband, Billy Gridley, and their son Charlie Gridley, as well as his brother Don Heizer and Don’s wife Cindy.
