William J. Knowles

William J. Knowles Jr., 83, of Manchester, died August 17, 2003, at his residence after a long illness.

He was born in Concord NH on September 30, 1920, and was the son of William and Grace (Llewellyn) Knowles.

Mr. Knowles was an accomplished musician, having been proficient at the drums, guitar, and piano.

For many years he sold and serviced appliances at Bill's Appliance store.

He received the highest licensing in amateur radio operating.

Family members include his wife Yvonne Knowles, of Manchester; 2 sons, William J. Knowles III, of Concord, and Richard Knowles, of Manchester; 3 daughters, Sandra Randall of Concord NC, Pamela Knowles, of Loudon, and Diane Knowles, of Tampa FL; a stepson, John Beane, of Tilton; a stepdaughter, Patricia Halbert, of Manchester; he was predeceased by his first wife Priscilla Knowles in 1992; 2 sons, Phillip Knowles in 1990 and James Knowles in 1998, a stepson Joseph Beane in 1999; 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street assisted the family with the arrangements.
