Winona A. (Gowen) (Fraser) Labonte, 74, of Manchester, died March 15, 2005 at a local health care facility after a period of declining health. She passed peacefully surrounded by loving members of her family.
She was born in Arlington, MA on October 5, 1930, the daughter of George M. and Mary (McLearn) Gowen. She was educated in the Lexington, MA school system and was a graduate of Lexington High School.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary 01617 in Derry, NH. She was an accomplished seamstress who also enjoyed smocking, building cloth dolls, and making crafts. One of her great loves was collecting miniature houses known as "Shelia's".
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Labonte and her 1st husband, George E. Fraser.
As a loving and giving mother her family included her children and their spouses, Jon and Donna Fraser of Manchester, Bonnie and Frank Rosati of Cocoa Beach, FL, George "Buddy" and Darlene Fraser of Manchester, Dana and Barbara Fraser of Pembroke, Thomas "Mickey" and Christine Fraser of Ossipee, Kevin and Sue Fraser of Manchester, Noni and Wayne Towle of Chester, Mary and Glen Ackerman of South Carolina, Kelli and Tom Kelliher of Auburn, Priscilla and Clifford Magnor of Hooksett, Claudette and Trent Porter of Raymond, Robert "Butch" Labonte of Manchester, Kathryn and Dan Hartigan of Pembroke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one nephew, Jamie Mitchell of Idaho.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday March 18, 2005 in St. Kathryn Church, Hudson, NH with the Rev. Gary Beliveau officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
