Yaroslav F. Romanishin, 88, of Manchester, died suddenly on March 24, 2025.

Born in Lviv, Ukraine on October 10, 1936, he was the son of the late Fedor and Maria Romanishin. Yaroslav was educated in Ukraine and earned his engineering degree from Lviv Polytechnic National University (founded in 1816). He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for many years in Ukraine before emigrating to Manchester NH in 1994 to join his family.

Yaroslav enjoyed playing chess. He loved hiking, picking berries and mushrooms, walks in the woods and throughout town. His passion was gardening, especially at his “dacha” summer home and later his daughter’s backyard. Yaroslav was a benevolent man, full of kindness and positivity; who cared deeply for his family and always strived to do well by them. He was extremely proud of Ukraine and his heritage. Above all else, he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Yaroslav was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Lila A. (Yaroshenko) Romanishin in 2016.

Surviving family includes daughter, Galina Tolstenko and husband Valeriy, and their son Dennis and wife Megan, along with their children, Emilia and Brayden Tolstenko, his son, Oleg Romanishin and wife Natalia and their son Andrew, all of Manchester, NH.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, March 27th, from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, corner of North Street, Manchester, NH 03104. He will be interred privately, by his family, in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
