Yolanda F. (Amato) Baron, 94, of Manchester, died November 8, 2017 at Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on May 15, 1923 to Frank and Marie (Sigadeli) Amato. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Yolanda worked at J.F. McElwain Shoe Company and Summit Packaging, both in Manchester, for many years. She enjoyed living the simple life including working in her flower and vegetable gardens, feeding and watching the birds, cooking Italian food and watching the Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Roland A. Baron in 2016 and by four brothers, Tony, Lars, Joseph and Louis Amato.
The family includes three children, Bernice Stachokas and her husband, George, of Candia and Gino Baron and his wife, Gloria, and Bonnie Baron all of Manchester; three grandchildren, Nicole, Lisa and Brandie and eight great grandchildren; a sister, Lena Doyon of California and nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony was held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. Private burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
