She was born in Manchester on February 25, 1933 to Joseph and Anna (Laliberte) Mathieu. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Mrs. Chouinard worked at Manchester Hosiery Mill, Pariseau's Department Store and Caldor, all in Manchester, for many years.
She was a communicant of Ste. Marie Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne at that parish.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert E. Chouinard earlier this year; two grandsons, David A. Chouinard Jr. and James Dixon; and by three brothers, Arthur Mathieu, Joseph Mathieu and Thomas Mathieu.
The family includes two sons, David A. Chouinard and his wife, Debra, of Epsom, and Jean P. Chouinard and his wife, Anne, of Manchester; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Laurette Messier and Lucille Coutu; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 21, 2011 at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Encryptment is private and will be in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
