Yvette Comtois

Born in North Grosvenordale, CT on April 16, 1923, she was the daughter of Adelard and Alexina (Ferland) Comtois.

She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1943 and made her final profession in 1950.

Sr. Comtois earned a bachelor's degree from Notre Dame College, Manchester in 1958, and a master's degree from St. Bonaventure University, New York in 1972. She taught middle grade and junior high students in Springfield, MA, Groton, CT and in New Hampshire at Newmarket, Somersworth, Suncook, Rochester and Nashua.

She assisted her family in Baltic, CT and served as a eucharistic minister and visitor to shut ins until 1998 when illness forced her to retire to Holy Cross Health Center.

She will be remembered for her dedication and great love of Our Lady of Compassion.

The family includes a sister, Dolores Comtois of Baltic, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, June 27, 2009 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Private burial was at St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
