She was born in Manchester on December 2, 1920, the daughter of Cyrille and Eva (Dionne) Allard. She was educated in the local schools and was a resident of the city for all of her life.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed in the cafeteria of Wilson Street School in Manchester. She had previously worked for Myrna Shoe Company for many years.
Yvette was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the parish's Dames de Ste. Anne. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and traveling.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph R. Deshaies in 1995.
Members of her family include two sons, Ronald A. Deshaies and Jean E. Deshaies, both of Manchester; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Jeannette) Schafer of Torrington, CT and Irene Groleau of Manchester; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren; six brothers, Roland, Gerard, Roger, Maurice, Ralph, and Edward Allard, all of Manchester; three sisters, Theresa Boisvert, Doris Lacelle, and Cecile Favereau, all of Manchester; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday November 29, 2007 in Sacred Heart Church, 265 So. Main St. Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
