Born in Manchester on April 5, 1920, she was the daughter of Appolinaire and Rose Anna (Pettigrew) Gamache. She entered the order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1949, made her first profession in 1952 and her final profession in 1957.
She taught at the elementary school level in Woonsocket, RI, then served as a missionary in the Philippine Islands for 10 years. She later was assigned to community services at Our Lady of the Mountains Academy in Gorham, St. Joseph Residence in Manchester and Rivier College in Nashua.
Sr. Gamache was an interior decorator and seamstress and was responsible for the community vestry at the Presentation of Mary in Hudson for 22 years. She retired in 1999.
The family includes three sisters, Simone Gregoire, Jeanne Gilbert and Ghislaine Compagna; three brothers, Richard Gamache, Bertrand Gamache and Philippe Gamache; cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday June 7, 2007 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
