Yvonne A. Mercier

February 22, 1916 — October 6, 2015

Yvonne A. (Marcoux) Mercier, 99, of Manchester, died October 6, 2015 at Villa Crest Retirement Community after a brief illness.

She was born in Valley Junction, Quebec, Canada on February 22, 1916 to Napoleon and Isala (Lagrange) Marcoux. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

Yvonne worked for several Manchester area shoe manufacturers and as a waitress at Queen City Motel for many years. She was a longtime communicant and volunteer at St. Anthony Church and was a member of the Franco-American Society. She enjoyed cooking and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Marcel T. Mercier, in 1992 and by five siblings.

The family includes four children, Patrick Frost and his wife, Linda, of Manchester, Dorothy Dunn Straus and her husband, Murray, of Durham, Theresa Richard and her husband, Maurice, of Delaware and Marcel J. Mercier and his wife, Cynthia, of Manchester; 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Gosselin of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
